LDV MIFA mobilizer is due in November

LDV will return to the commuter segment after a short break with a more impressively styled, feature-packed service.

The LDV MIFA coming in November, looking for Kia Carnival and Hyundai Staria. More detailed pricing and specifications will be announced closer to launch.

It is the gasoline-powered counterpart to 9 . MIFA poweralso due here before the end of the year.

As revealed in government approval documents in the first day of this monthThe MIFA – known in China as the Maxus G90 – will have a more glamorous grille than overseas and will be offered in three trim levels.

They are called Mode, Executive and Luxe, and they are all powered by turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine manufacturing 160kW power and 360Nm torque, mated to an Aisin-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission.

No mention has been made of the 118.5kW turbo-diesel which has also been approved for sale in Australia. Automakers sometimes get certifications for variants that weren’t introduced until much later or didn’t arrive at all.

Depending on the variant, it is offered with seven or eight seats, with MIFA offering a six-way power-adjustable captain’s seat for the first two rows.

The captain’s seat in the second row has legroom and a folding tray table, with LDV promising a “business class” experience.

While its output is little changed compared to the defunct output G10 people cheering – it dropped 5kW and gained 30Nm – its safety equipment suite has grown significantly.

All models will come standard with front and rear automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and rear collision warning.

LDV General Manager Dinesh Chinappa said: “Each new MIFA model will come with a remarkable level of standard safety equipment, convenience features, fuel-efficient powertrains and more for the sake of fuel economy. for hardworking Australian families.” LDV General Manager Dinesh Chinappa said.

“While it may not share the heart of its electric sibling, the MIFA 9, it shares the same basic principles of evolutionary design, passenger comfort, safety and more. . It has greatly enhanced the game that moves people, and we look forward to redefining a segment that has, until now, been dominated by two brands. “

The MIFA 9 has a 180kW electric powertrain, and LDV has previously confirmed that it will use a 90kWh lithium-ion battery with a claimed WLTP electric range of up to 440km, depending on the variant.

Charging the MIFA 9 via an 11kW home wall charger takes about 8.5 hours, while DC fast charging takes about 36 minutes to fully charge from 20-80 percent.

The company also says it hopes to get a five-star Euro NCAP rating, and that the MIFA 9 will come standard with the same set of safety features as its petrol-powered sibling.

That represents a big step up from the G10, which only has a three-star ANCAP rating and lacks any active safety tech, while also only getting two airbags.

MIFA models have MacPherson strut front suspension and five-link independent rear suspension.

All are 5270mm long, 2000mm wide and 1845mm tall (1840mm in MIFA 9) on a 3200mm wheelbase.

That makes them 102mm longer, 20mm wider and 83mm taller than the old G10, if with an almost identical wheelbase. They are also 115mm longer than Carnival.

LDV has confirmed the MIFA 9 will initially be offered with seven seats, with an eight-seat option coming in 2023.

The new petrol and diesel engines will create some competition for the Kia Carnival, the dominant force with a whopping 65% share of the overall consumer vehicle market this year.

Segment staples, such as Honda Odyssey and the Toyota Tarago is no longer for sale.

As a civil electricity campaigner, MIFA 9 will find itself less competitive than Mercedes-Benz eVito Tourer and EQV.
