Delta Downs hosted the season’s richest programming on February 5 as the 19th edition of Louisiana Premier Day took center stage. The 11-race program includes 10 stake races and a total of more than $900,000 for Louisiana crossbred horses.
The race of the day is the $150,000 Louisiana Premier League Day Championship, a full 10 field competition at 1/16 mile. The race seems to be open without Withstand AP force , the winner of the previous two editions, who did not participate this time. Jimi is a star finished well to come in third, adding 1 1/2 lengths after the top pair.
Langs Day, which goes in 1:48.23, currently has six wins from 17 starts for owner Keith Plaisance. Saturday’s winner’s $90,000 prize pool brought his total fortune to $277,040.
