Cars built between February 11, 2022 and June 10, 2022 may have been fitted with the defective seating frame, which could result in seats that aren’t properly secured. In the event of a crash, the second row seating could move forward and upwards, which the National Highway Traffic Safety Bureau says may “increase the risk of injury to first and second row occupants.”
NHTSA reports that the fix requires that the 500 affected models be taken to dealers for inspection and, if necessary, the second row seats replaced. Owner notice letters are expected to be delivered by June 2, 2023.
If you are concerned that your vehicle may be affected by the recall, there are a few easy ways to check if that’s true.
