KLAS says health system optimism for Oracle Health fell last year

New research from Arch Collaborative includes findings from three rounds of Oracle Health (Cerner) customer interviews in March, July, and November 2022.

True fulfillment of doubtful promises

According to the KLAS researchers, customers want Oracle Health to deliver on its previous promises in terms of revenue cycles, physician experience and other areas.

While some will continue with Oracle Health under their contract, they say they are losing confidence in the company’s ability to deliver on the vision and are therefore uncertain about their long-term relationship. with electronic health records and revenue cycle management companies.

“We’re worried about Cerner being our long-term partner because they’re sending mixed messages even though the vendor is saying all the right things at their user group meetings.” , said a vice president of healthcare.

“The vendor is talking about improving the EHR and RevElate backend for the cloud, but they’re also laying off a lot of employees. To me, those aren’t equivalent. In the end, Cerner needs to catch up. put out some code and actually drive results with their products,” said the interviewee.

Another respondent is concerned that the promised capabilities of RevElate that have yet to materialize will soon be overtaken by other vendors.

“Since then [RevElate] introduced in October 2021, most respondents — across all three rounds of interviews — had only seen screenshots of the software and had never viewed the system in a live environment, and one some refer to the product as evaporative software,” the KLAS researchers said in the report.
