Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko when directly fighting the Russian army: “I have no choice. I have to do it”

Former WBC heavyweight and current mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko spoke with Good morning England on Thursday in connection with the Russian invasion of his native Ukraine
“It was a bloody war,” he declared plainly just hours after the Russian military, led by President Wladimir Putin, launched an attack on Ukraine that shook the world with its scale and aggression its.
When asked bluntly if he would be willing to take up arms on his own, the former heavyweight giant answered bluntly.
“I had no other choice,” he said. “I have to do it.”
“Will you fight?” asked Richard Gaiford, who was doing the interview.
“I will fight,” Klitschko replied.
Gairford then asked Kltischko and the others how they expected to defeat the Russian army.
Klitschko replied: “We have civil defense at the moment. He also stated that “a lot of people today,” are armed and ready to defend their homeland.
“Do you believe they can do it?” Gairford asked.
“I believe,” Klitschko said after a pause. “I believe in Ukraine. I believe in my country. I believe in who I am.”
