What makes a good parent? Most would say that a good parent loves and nurtures their children with the ultimate aim of helping them thrive – now and in the future. A good parent will feed their children, give them play space and time to use their imaginations, make sure they get education and medical care, listen to their troubles, and teach they will one day become self-sufficient adults.

However, does being a good parent involve anything more than that?

In her book, Raising children on earthPhilosopher and mother Elizabeth Cripps argued that to do the right thing for their children, Parents must also try to do something about the problems caused by climate change.

Cripps does not claim that it is possible to do this all the time. (Climate action needs to be balanced with the other tasks involved in raising a child.) Sometimes that seems futile. But, If parents do nothing, they fail their children.

My children, and those of many famous polluters and climate deniers, will probably live to be a part of it. grim screening – a world where Alan Jones And bolt Andrew of the world worked so hard to create.

How should Australian parents deal with those who are happily working to create a world in which a large portion of humanity will perish? As I became more angry than ever at the polluters and the deniers, I understood they are threatening the safety of my children as well as anyone who might seek to harm a child.

Flannery avoids explicitly stating the logical conclusion to his proposal that “predatory” climate deniers are harming their own children and the children of others, but it seems pretty obvious. It’s clear where this will lead.

Unless we challenge this outrageous narrative, it’s only a matter of time until certain dark green politicians come up with a plan to “rescue” children from parents who don’t. adapted to that climate, by categorizing “predators” in the same legal category as pedophiles.
