That future is set in today’s price. Because the Democratic Party’s energy policy is a schizophrenic mess, ranging from puerile to sinister. Democrats will argue that this is a unique emergency as prices have skyrocketed to historic highs. Guess what? Energy prices will always be at historic highs when you create shortages, which is exactly what the progressive organizations that have supported us do for years.
Virtually every leftist energy proposition over the past two decades, if not longer, has been designed to create false scarcity, through fabricated markets and strict regulations. or by limiting production. This is what they want.
Mr. Biden promised during the 2020 presidential campaign: “No more tolerance on federal lands. “There is no need for drilling, even offshore. Of course, until some new technology is devised, implementing any policy resembles the Green New Deal – a plan that Biden says is the “framework” for his own efforts on “publicity” “environmentally” – would have economic consequences roughly the same as having the coronavirus economically shut down for 30 consecutive years.
That is merely if we follow the recommendations of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change on carbon emissions. Last year, when inflation had fallen, Mr. Biden preached that the “moral imperative” was to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 50% from 2005 levels by 2030 and 100% by 2050. It’s a policy that reminds us of about $5.00 a gallon.
Energy policy cannot be made erratically and then abandoned every time the Democratic polls fail. This is just a little taste of the Green New Deal. No sentient being can accept the view that the Democratic Party is a party that favors abundant fossil fuels. It is hoped that the costs – even if small – of their green policies are so politically severe that they will be moderate. Because we all have unattainable dreams.

And after their inevitable midterm assault in November, climate policies will hit a dead end for years to come. The current energy crisis has served as a warning to the American public about what Biden’s Green New Deal has in store for them.
If the US refuses to commit to hari-kari carbon, it is unlikely that the rest of the world will do so. It remains to be seen how long the UK and EU will stay on this journey.
