Can you recall how Sonic Mania Headcannon developer had some participation IN sound origin. Now, after the announcement of Sonic Plus OriginsThe developer of “indie games and gadgets” has confirmed they are “once again” partnering with Sega to update the project this time around.
In a series of lengthy tweets, it explains how it has helped bring Amy into the spotlight, helped create Knuckles in Sonic CD, and can provide “a few additional updates and improvements” to help make it happen. for this collection to be “the best it can be”. Here is the full announcement:
Head cannon: It’s coming – Sonic Origins Plus! We are pleased to announce that we have once again partnered with SEGA to update this project; you know we can’t fight Sonic! Here are a few things you can expect in Origins Plus:
We’re thrilled to hear that SEGA wants to make Amy playable and we couldn’t resist the opportunity to make her the center of attention! New playable characters need new characters and ours @AStartShow is definitely up to the design task while @DashPadSPD perform data management.
Knuckles is now also playable in Sonic CD! With the inclusion of playable Amy, we’re excited to deliver some new graphics to complement SEGA’s efforts in making this a reality.
In line with SEGA’s work on updating the collection, we can also provide some additional updates and improvements to help make the title the best it can be! We appreciate their openness to our feedback and suggestions.
We are proud to have joined hands to bring out the best in this collection; Sega has put a lot of faith in us by allowing this and we appreciate it so much! We can’t wait for you to experience it!
As previously revealed, Sonic Origins will add 12 Game Gear games. And as noted above, there will even be some new playable characters. It arrives on June 23, and this time there will be a physical release. You can learn more in the announcement post:
