I’m a beauty editor and this matte skin tint is the best I’ve ever tried

I love foundation, lotion, tinted moisturizer—all skin care products. Even if my skin looks almost as perfect as ever, you’ll still catch me with my skin tone on a daily basis. Thankfully, one of the benefits of this job is having access to more beauty products than I know what to do with. My testing log is pretty much backed up, but skin-brightening products never stay on the waiting list for long. That said, I’m pretty tired; My standards are high and most products do not pass the “meh” standard. So I was surprised when I tried it Mac Cosmetics’ new Strobe Dewy Skin foundation color and realized it was the best thing I’ve tested all year.

When I think about or shop for Mac, I often think of its iconic lipstick products whether it is a lipstick product. Lipstick color of the 90s I inherited from my mother or insurmountable hype Spray glossy lips. I had relatively no expectations about this The tinted moisturizer has a slightly pearlescent sheen.

As a moisturizer, it is formulated with three hydrating MVPs; Squalane, hyaluronic acidAnd vitamin E. The combination of ingredients plumps, hydrates, moisturizes, reduces wrinkles.

Frosty skin color flickers there are only 14 shades, but I wouldn’t consider that a limited range. The color is very sheer but still blendable; I actually find that the two different shades look seamless on my skin. It also has a bit of a pearly sheen that is initially discouraging. When I squeezed it out of the tube, I thought “oh no, this is not going to work,” but it is one of those “trust the process” products. Once applied to the face and left to sit, the initially scary pearliness disappears and becomes luminous. I look like I belong in those first-generation Glossier ads—fresh-faced, poreless, plump and radiant.

There are a few footnotes I should make. Firstly, Frosty skin color flickers Is one moisturizer, if you use it with a separate moisturizer, you may experience clumping and clogging. Second, this is a very moisturizing formula, if your skin is particularly oily, you may need both a coat of primer and a setting powder. I have combination skin that leans more towards the oily side and it works for me; One thing to note is that on wetter days I need a setting powder, but that can happen with most of my skin products.
