What is a Frenchel Dog?

The Frenchel – also known as the Royal Frenchel Bulldog – is a cross between a French Bulldog and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

French Royal, located in Rainier, Washington, was the original breeder of this hybrid. The mix was developed by owner Anahata Graceland when her daughter was sick and needed a service dog – but she realized that French Bulldogs were too fragile to get to medical centers. She developed the Royal Frenchel Bulldog.

The combination was held in Seattle at Frenchel Royal Dayan event held at Victor Steinbrueck Park near the city’s iconic Pike’s Market, the annual reunion of the Royal Frenchel families.

How big is a Frenchel?

Royal Frenchels come in three sizes:

  • Frequent. The regular Royal Frenchel has a height of 14-15 inches and a length of 16-20. This is the largest of Frenchels.
  • Little. Small has a height of 12-14 inches and a length of 12-16 inches. This is the average size member of the family.
  • Super small. Frenchel mini microphones range from 7-13 inches in height and 11-13 inches in length. This is the smallest dog in the French breed (as well as the smallest in the Bulldog family).

The most expensive Micro Mini dogs among Frenchel sizes with price ranges from $8,495-$13,995+.

Regardless of size, Anahata Graceland notes that “these loving and loyal companions have become a favorite among dog owners for their strong demeanor, confidence, and unparalleled ability of them in forming deep relationships with their fellow human beings.”

Both the French Bulldog and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel are very popular breeds (with the Frenchie moving up to #1 in this year’s AKC rankings.)

Frenchies are known for their “bat ears” and are Brachycephalic (flat-faced) dogs. Due to the large head and shoulders of the French Bulldog, mothers often request a caesarean section – which means additional costs for the delivery and rehabilitation of the mother, making the Frenchies a popular breed. expensive dog.

However, the French Bulldog is currently America’s top dog breed and is celebrated every year on National French Bulldog Day.

Not to be outdone, King Charles Spaniel Cavalier Day is celebrated on International Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Day.

Cavaliers come in a variety of officially recognized colors including chestnut and white most commonly known as Blenheim, a name derived from Blenheim Palace.
