Hyundai Ioniq 6 EV teased again for Malaysia – V2L charging capability, 614 km range, 605 Nm torque
Hyundai Malaysia Facebook The page has once again hinted at the appearance of ioniq 6 the all-electric model and the most recent page alluded to a torque figure of 605 Nm.
This is the same as the torque output figure from ionq 5, generating the aforementioned 305 PS and 605 Nm of torque from a dual-motor powertrain. This gives the Ioniq 5 a 0-100 km/h time of 5.2 seconds, while the Ioniq 6’s official 0-100 km/h time is a tenth faster, at 5.1 seconds.
Multiple posts about the Ioniq 6 have appeared on the brand’s local Facebook page since we last reported touting the vehicle’s 0.21 Cd drag coefficient, which the manufacturer gave know allow a energy consumption 13.9 kWh/100 km on the WLTP cycle, which Hyundai says makes it one of the most energy efficient EVs.
That, in turn, allows for a battery operating range of up to 614 kilometers, which Hyundai Malaysia says is equivalent to the journey between Taiping, Perak and Johor Bahru. Power in the Ioniq 6 is stored in a 77.4 kWh battery pack, and the vehicle’s 800-volt electrical structure also allows for 400-volt charging, which is being installed on e-GMP . platform which is also the foundation of Ioniq 5.
This matches the Ioniq 5 in that it is capable of DC fast charging up to 350 kW, allowing the streamlined EV to achieve a 10-80% charge in 18 minutes. As also mentioned in one of the brand’s Facebook posts, this brings in media-loading (V2L) capabilities allowing the Ioniq 6 to act as a power source.
In terms of exterior dimensions, the Ioniq 6 is 4,855 mm long, 1,880 mm wide and 1,495 mm high with a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. From our live images of the vehicle on display at the 2023 Bangkok International Auto Show, the digital side camera replaces the conventional rearview mirror, while the Parametric Pixel design can be seen on headlights, rear combination lights and overhead brake lights.
Inside, instrumentation adopts a 12-inch digital display along with a 12-inch infotainment screen. Users can access both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while Bluetooth multi-connectivity allows two devices to be connected at the same time.
