These Terrarium Pikmin figures are irresistible and we need them all

We are confused that Pikmin terrarium toys have never been a thing before, but that’s about to change on November 6 when the Japanese toy maker Re Ment released the Pikmin Terrarium toy blind box series.

Shared by Watch the game (through Tokyo Game Life) Re-Ment, which previously released Pokémon and Kirby-themed terrarium toys, has revealed all six upcoming plastic figures. Inside each bottle — varying from a small ship in a bottle to a light bulb — you’ll find Pikmin, the creatures and even Olimar, acting out different scenes that you could do in any game. Which Pikmin.

At 1,320 yen per box (about £7.20 GBP / USD $9.15), there are six toys to collect. No new Pikmin from Pikmin 4 is represented, however, the original Red, Blue and Yellow trio were joined by Flying and Rock Pikmin from Pikmin 3.

There’s even the specter of a Pikmin, which you can see in the terrarium where a Bulborb is eating a little Green guy. A Firebird and an orange icon look pretty cute in some of the other toys.

However, we only have one question – how can we get these in the West? It looks like the blind box is currently only sold in Japan, but other Re-Ment toys are available on several other sites, such as Amazon, Japan SquareAnd Japan2UK, for example — although you may end up paying a decent amount for them. We will continue to pluck our Pikmins from the ground and hope that one day they will find their way to our shores.

These little terrariums are just one of a number of new Pikmin toys and merchandise released this year, to coincide with the launch of Pikmin 4 on July 21:
