Here’s how to use the Alaska Mileage Plan to earn miles at participating restaurants

Food rewards programs are one of the easiest ways to earn miles and one of the most popular programme is the Alaska Mileage Eating Plan. It allows you earn Alaska miles when you dine with your affiliate card at participating restaurants.

All you have to do is join, sign up for at least one debit or credit card and then watch the miles accrue as you dine at participating restaurants. You’ll even qualify for bonus miles on your first purchase and increase your earning rate when you dine out regularly. Here’s everything you need to know about the Alaska Mileage Plan Dining program.

How to join

It’s easy to join the Weaning Plan Eating. You will need to provide your name, zip code, email address and Mileage Plan number to sign up.

While promotional emails are often annoying, we recommend that you agree to receive email communications. Doing so means you’ll earn 3 miles per dollar instead of the standard 1 mile for every two dollars spent.

How to Earn Miles with Alaska’s Meal Program

Earning miles with Alaska’s food program is as simple as registerRegister a credit or debit card to your account and then pay for meals at participating restaurants using the registered card.

Once you apply for a card in the dining rewards program, the program will track your purchases with that card at participating restaurants. So if you sign up for more than one card in Alaska Mileage Plan Dining, you will earn Alaska miles when you make an eligible purchase using any card you have registered with. You can search for participating restaurants by name, type of cuisine, or location.

After you dine at a Meal Plan restaurant and pay with your registered card, you will normally receive an email notification from Meal Plan. This email tells you your purchase earned miles and includes an invitation to submit a review.

The Alaska Snack Plan has three membership tiers, earning 0.5 to 5 Alaska miles for every dollar spent:

  • Basic member: 1 mile for every $2 spent.
  • Choose a member: 3 miles for every dollar spent.
  • VIP member: 5 miles for every dollar spent.

As mentioned, you can upgrade from Basic to Selective membership by opting to receive email notifications. You can do this during registration or any other time. As a Select member, you will not only earn more Alaska miles, but also have the opportunity to earn bonus miles and receive advance notification of promotions.

Becoming a VIP member requires opting in to email notifications and completing 11 qualifying transactions in a calendar year. On your 12th trade, you will start earning 5 miles per dollar and be eligible for bonus opportunities until the end of the next calendar year.

It’s also important to note that you can join any airline and hotel dining rewards program. However, they all belong to the same network, so you cannot register the same card with more than one program.

Alaska Mileage Plan First Meal Reward

New members can earn up to 500 bonus miles after spending $30 at a participating restaurant within 30 days of joining the Meal Plan. You also need to submit a review within 30 days of your visit to earn your first meal reward.
