Have You Ever Tried to Take Landscape Photos from afar?

Shooting from a distance can be really useful in many situations, but it is rarely used in landscape photography. However, it can be quite useful and this cool video will show you what you can achieve with it.

Coming to you from Christian Irmler – Landscape Photography, this neat video takes you behind the scenes of landscape photography from a distance. In this case, Irmler forces his wife to be his “remote control”, but of course, you can also use the actual remote. I do this a lot when photographing concerts; I will place the camera close to the stage to shoot without disturbing the performers. I never thought of using it for landscape photography, but it makes a lot of sense. Every sunset and sunrise is unique, and if you want multiple views at once, you have to be a little ingenious. A remote trigger, rangefinder, or a pair of helping hands are all options. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Irmler.

And if you really want to dive into landscape photography, check out “World Photography 1: Landscape Photography and Post-Processing with Elia Locardi,” is now on sale with the rest of the Fstoppers store!
