I was going to write a love letter to stand C, but then I remembered this video that caught my attention a year ago. Trigger warning; these videos aren’t new, but neither is stand C, and they happen to be some of the most valuable toolkits I’ve ever gotten my hands on. The video covers a lot of ways to use them and I must say in a very interesting way.
I found this video to not only provide information explaining how to set it up and securely store it grandstand, but also sheds some light on some lesser known but very useful settings. What the video doesn’t show is how you can use a heavy duty on purpose exploding arm instead of standard arm when you need a little extra cheat length.
I use them to hang scrolls of drawing paper to diffuse light, to hold different flags, and as a DIY overhead stand for my camera. And yes, sometimes I light it up. In my honest opinion you can never have too many C stands. Brands are different and perhaps not created equal. Let me know your preferred brand in the comments and if you use gloves to handle them.
