Tudor Dixon, Republican candidate for governor of Michigan, said in the Friday edition of SiriusXM Breitbart News Daily told guest host Jerome Hudson that Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI) is endangering the lives of Michiganns by threatening their ability to heat their homes in the winter.
Whitmer, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) and the Biden administration are pushing to close a significant portion of Fifth Street, an oil pipeline built in 1953 that carries propane and fossil fuels. between Canada and the United States. Democrats market their push as an “environmental” measure.
Dixon commented, “Let me tell you what this will do for the state of Michigan and the Midwest in general. It moves propane. Michigan has the highest propane use in the country. That’s what people on the upper peninsula of Michigan heat their homes, as do many people on the lower peninsula.”
Dixon said Whitmer is putting the lives of Michiganders at risk in the winter by undermining access to heating in their homes to adhere to leftist orthodoxy.

But if the pipeline is being operated in a dangerous way, politicians like Governor Whitmer also need to respond for helping to create a hostile political climate that is encouraging fossil fuel companies to operate. their infrastructure into the ground. No one spends money on the maintenance of a house that is scheduled to be demolished.
Caught in the middle of this are Michigan residents, who may be about to lose an important lifeline over the winter. Michigan environmental groups claim there are plenty of alternative sources of supplybut that pipeline is profitable enough for Enbridge to want to stay afloat, so there is definitely demand for the product it offers.
What can I say – if I lived in a place like Michigan, and that pipeline is a critical component of propane availability and reliability, I would very much like to keep that pipeline running. Freezing in the winter will be worse than living with the risk of a pipe burst.
