Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X 2024 launched in Malaysia priced at RM26,900 and RM29,900
Currently in Malaysia there is the Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X 2024, priced at RM26,900 and RM29,900 respectively. This follows the previous announcement of the Malaysian market price for Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X November last year.
The pair that Triumph calls the “T-Series” are equipped with a single-cylinder DOHC ‘TR’ engine with four valves that produces 39.5 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and maximum torque of 37,000 rpm. 5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Euro 5 compliant, the TR engine is designed to have an air-cooled appearance while also carrying a slim radiator.
Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox and chain final drive. The difference between the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X is the wheel size, the Speed has 17 inch front and rear wheels while the Scrambler has 19 inch front and 17 inch rear wheels.
Additionally, the Scrambler 400 Braking is done with 300 mm diameter discs at the front for the Speed. The Scrambler gets 320mm discs, clamped by four-piston radial-mounted brake calipers for both.
Regarding the suspension system, the vehicle is equipped with a 43 mm diameter Big Piston inverted fork, with the Speed version having 140 mm of travel and the Scrambler version having 150 mm of travel. At the rear, a monoshock with remote reservoir is fitted, which is preload adjustable and offers 130mm of suspension travel for the Speed 400 and 150mm for the Scrambler 400 X.
The Speed 400 has a wet weight of 170 kg with a seat height of 790 mm while the Scrambler 400 X has a wet weight of 179 kg with a seat height of 835 mm. The tank holds 13 liters of fuel.
