Floyd Mayweather announces a series of boxing exhibitions in Dubai

Following Floyd Mayweather’s bout with Logan Paul on June 6 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, in 2021, the newly inducted Hall of Famer believes he has reached the end of the rope. Having retired from the ring in 2017 after scoring a tenth round victory over Conor McGregor in his 50th professional showdown, Mayweather began to participate in exhibitions only.
While the former five-division champion seemed inclined to give up participating in those public exhibitions, he has now changed his mind.
On December 31, the day before the calendar turns to the new year, Mayweather announced that he would be brushing off his gloves again and participating in an exhibition. As for the venue, Mayweather is due to appear just days before his 45th birthday on a helipad in Dubai.
“We’re going to have a special limited-edition boxing showcase,” Mayweather told several reporters. “Right at this helipad, February 20th, four days before my birthday. I have always been my goal when coming to the UAE, showing and showing my talents to the people of the Middle East. I just wanted to entertain people and show people.”
In Mayweather’s past exhibitions, he has made no secret of who he will be participating with. Before the fight with Paul, Mayweather quickly knocked out Tenshin Nasukawa, knocking out the multiple kickboxing champion in the first round of 2018.
While Mayweather isn’t clear who he ends up facing, one thing he knows for sure, his February 20 appearance will not be a one-off.
“We haven’t picked an opponent yet, but we’ll let everyone know who it will be. It will be more than a fight.”
