Dog that has never seen snow survive 19 days lost in historic blizzard

Marlee, a beautiful brindle Boxer/Mastiff, and her mother, Lizbeth, have been best friends since sweet Marlee was a puppy. So naturally, they went on many adventures together. But when they were in the middle of their most recent escape, the unthinkable happened. Marlee’s mother slides on a black iceberg and their car crashes into a snowy field. Marlee panicked and frantically rushed to the back window.

As soon as they stopped, Marlee’s mother jumped out of the car and chased after her panicked dog. But she couldn’t keep up, and Marlee got lost in the snow.

Big Bear, California, happened to have record snowfall at the time. Within two days, the area was covered with more than 4 feet of snow! Marlee has never seen snow before, and now she’s suddenly trapped in a historic blizzard.

Despite putting up hundreds of flyers and posting them all over Facebook’s community pages, they still couldn’t find their precious dog. After weeks of searching, hoping, and praying, Marlee’s grieving family began to give up hope that they would ever see her again. After all, she was outside protecting herself while enduring the frigid temperatures and heavy snow.

But then someone spotted her and posted a picture of her looking super skinny on a Facebook page. Finally, there is a sign that sows some hope. Then, a Ring camera captured her visiting Jenny Sheldon’s house around 8:30 p.m. every night. So they started leaving food for her. But again, she was too fast to catch up.

So James, Jenny’s son, put on a pair of snowshoes and followed Marlee’s footsteps in the snow. In the end, the friendly dog was able to be lured by a certain chicken long enough for James to grab her and take her into their warm home.

The family gave Marlee love, fed her lots of delicious food and gave her a place to comfortably wait out the rest of the storm. After the blizzard passed and they were able to walk down the mountain safely, Marlee and Lizbeth were able to finally reunited.

As you might expect, it was a fun occasion. Their sweet girl survived. And thanks to a little luck, and the help of dog-loving friends, Marlee finally returned home unharmed.
