Ford recalls more F-150 trucks due to windshield wiper engine failure
Ford is having a quality problem. Since mid-2022, the automaker has recalled hundreds of thousands of vehicles for everything from battery problem on tram, fire risk on many models to software problem. While Ford CEO Jim Farley admits that controlling these problems it will take a while, Ford is taking a few extra jolts on the road to fixing all the problems. Case in point: Consumer Newspapers details about a new Ford recall affecting the F-150 pickup truck.
In case you lost it:
the recall affecting more than 220,000 2021 F-150s. Defective windshield wiper motors installed on these vehicles could cause them to stop working. Owners may experience that the wipers are acting erratically or too slowly, indicating that the engine is about to fail. A similar recall took place in 2022, but some F-150 Are not recall. Now, those are the people affected.
Ford told NHTSA it knows 576 reports of these wipers being faulty. Bizarrely, cars equipped with “smart” wipers – essentially automatic wipers – were not included in the initial recall because the company did not see any cases of wipers. That intelligence is faulty. The original manual wipers were believed to be the root of the problem. But in the end, the car wiper motor also fails.
