Detroit police rescue malnourished dog and her cubs from abandoned home

On the evening of December 26, the Detroit Police Department received a report of a “violent dog” and came to investigate.

But what they found was a malnourished bull that had just given birth.

Detroit police officers, H. Kourani and G. Rogers, spotted the dog outside an abandoned house and slowly approached the girl.

They tried to gain her trust by feeding her delicacies which she quickly devoured. Once they determine that they are there to help them get into the boarding house to look for the puppies.

“As soon as we turned the first corner into the living room, we saw a tiny brown puppy lying on a broken mattress,” said Kourani. told Fox News Digital.

The puppy was left inside the mattress with its head stuck in one of the springs. Rogers used all his strength to free the little guy.

Momma and her cubs were taken to Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue, where they were being cared for until they were ready to find a permanent home. The dogs seem to be in good health and will sleep in a warm blanket for the first time in their lives.

With overnight temperatures dropping below freezing, one vet told officers the puppies likely wouldn’t have survived the night if they hadn’t been rescued.
