Construction worker finds puppy trapped in mud, vet says, ‘It’s not a dog’
Workers were concerned when they discovered a slow moving movement in a muddy pit on an urban construction site. After scanning the pit, they discovered a tiny puppy desperately drowning and trying to stay afloat in a toxic cage. They rallied together and salvaged the dying puppy as soon as possible after discovering it.

The puppy was completely buried in a layer of dry, hard mud from head to tail by the time its owner took it to South Essex Wildlife Hospital. Plastic fibers dangling from the belly, looking quite pathetic. The terrified newborn was washed by veterinarians, only to find out that it was not a “dog”!

As a warm shower washed away the arid mud, the staff realized that the poor baby was actually a baby fox! After a long soak and scrubbing, the 4-month-old tiger cub has finally recovered from the shock and is free to move again. To celebrate this one-of-a-kind rescue, the staff named the baby “Muddsey“. We love the sound of that!

Muddsey is doing very well now and the vet staff will place him correctly when he is completely healthy. It is assumed that Muddsey has been trapped in a muddy hole all weekend based on his condition. If it weren’t for the construction workers, he would have met a horrible death. We are happy that everything is going well.
