BYD launches electric supercar to preview suspension technology

BYD previewed a new body control system designed specifically for hybrid and electric vehicles.

It demonstrated the new technology at the Shenzhen headquarters on the next day electric super car U9 from its Yangwang brand.

BYD says the DiSus System is a fully self-developed system and will have three iterations at first.

Based on CNEVPostDiSus-C, or Intelligent Damping Body Control System, adjusts the vehicle’s damping by controlling the dampers’ solenoid valves, to provide a driving comfort that is said to be superior. compared to vehicles with passive suspension.

DiSuS-A, or Intelligent Body Control System, is similar to a traditional air suspension system, allowing the vehicle’s travel height to be adjusted up to 150mm.

Finally, the DiSus-P, or Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System, can control the amount of oil entering the damper, damper control and stiffness control valves, and also provide upward travel. to 200mm.

This system can also raise and lower all 4 wheels simultaneously, or raise and lower 1 wheel independently. BYD claims the system can increase instantaneous stiffness by 200% during high-speed cornering or other “stressful” driving conditions, while reducing impact load in the event of a collision.

There’s also DiSus-X, which BYD calls the most advanced body control system in the global auto industry. It demonstrated the technology by driving the Yangwang U9 across the stage using only three wheels.

The company says it has been at the forefront of vertical motion control research, calling the DiSus System the first self-developed intelligent body control system from a Chinese automaker.

It is claimed to minimize the risk of rollover and reduce occupant displacement during high-speed cornering, emergency braking and full throttle.

BYD also says the DiSus System helps with horizontal, vertical and vertical movements and will “provide the foundation for future development” of advanced driver assistance systems.

The system can also protect the vehicle from damage while driving on a variety of road conditions.

DiSus-C will be deployed on BYD Han and Tang product lines as well as various Denza models as part of an over-the-air update.

DiSus-A will be offered on Denza N7 SUV, with DiSus-P will be offered on Duong Vuong U8.

BYD also teased an upcoming brand, specializing in “personal and professional identity,” that will use the DiSus system.

The DiSus system is not the only technology BYD has developed on its own.

The company was founded in 1995 as a battery manufacturer, developing and producing its own batteries. It also supplies these to other automakers, including Toyota.
