2023 BMW iX M60 boosts output to 610 hp and 811 lb-ft

The BMW iX xDrive50″ not exactly slow with 516 hp on tap. However, that was not enough for some, so the German brand added in 2023 BMW iX The M60 has 610 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque.

The power boost seems to be the main upgrade for the M60, and it’s a bit more complicated than those headline numbers. That output is provided only when in Enhanced Sport Mode and when launch control is on. In Enhanced Sport Mode with launch control off, torque drops to 749 pound-feet. In normal mode, power drops to 532 hp. So in total, the minimum is 532 horsepower and 749 pound-feet, and the maximum is 610 horsepower and 811 pound-feet. Most of the power boost comes from a new electric motor exclusive to the M60, which is a six-phase with dual power inverters and that alone has been rated up to 483 hp.

With additional strength comes additional weight. The M60 is 110 pounds heavier than the xDrive50. That’s not a huge increase, which is understandable since most SUVs stay the same size. the battery package and the same type of air suspension (dual wishbone front and five-link rear) as the standard model. The only real changes to the chassis are the different and larger anti-roll bars brake rotor, though BMW car didn’t give exact specs on them. The extra power makes the M60 much faster to 60 mph with a time of 3.6 seconds, while the xDrive50’s time is above 4. Top speed is 155 mph depending on options.

With essentially the same battery as the xDrive50, but with more power, weight, and standard 21-inch wheels, the M60 is conceivably not going to go very far. Its range is estimated at 280 miles. It supports 195 kW DC fast charging and BMW estimates it can charge from 10% to 80% in 35 minutes at full charging speed.

Otherwise, the M60 is quite similar to the xDrive50. The exterior has the same design as the standard model with the Sport package. It is available with the Titanium Bronze Exterior package for an additional fee, as shown in the gallery at the top. It adds bronze accents to the grille and badges, and it can be paired with striking bronze 22-inch wheels. Price for this is faster iX is $106,095 with destination, a notable increase over the xDrive50’s base price of $84,195.
