After playing softball as a teenager, athlete Yoshida moved to Hawaii to study martial arts and learn kickboxing. She then turned to boxing and made her professional debut in 2014. The New York City Maccow-Otero grudge has reached its climax. The two fought each other as amateurs and their gym fight is well known. Sydney “Jackal” Maccow (8-8, 3 KOs), born in Sint Maarten, Netherlands, now residing in Brooklyn, NY, is about to have a five-fight streak with four wins alternating with one no-fight. Christian “Veneno” Otero (4-3, 2 KOs), from New York, NY, made his professional debut on October 31, 2020 and his career began with four straight wins.
The two recently had this back and forth:
Otero: “You better be ready because no one can save you. It will be just you and me, 1 on 1, and I will come for you. I had the best camp of my life. There will be a lot of emotions in the ring and I will be out there to perform. I’m desperate for this war.
Maccow: I beat a lot of people in the gym in my twelve years of scrims and Otero was one of them, I beat him in amateurs and I beat him in scrims and I will beat him on Thursday.
Otero: He’s publicizing scrims. Sparring sessions are in the gym. A war is completely different. It will be an 8 oz glove and once I touch him he probably won’t want to fight me – he will run away. Leave the sparring in the sparring and take the fight to the fight. On Thursday I will be in the middle of the ring so you should be ready.
Maccow: Otero said he wasn’t in good shape when I dropped him. What does that say about him? That he’s out of shape and untrained? I’ve always stayed in shape – there was never any shape that worked for me. I fenced with high level guys and he hit me and I dropped him. The bottom line is that there is actual footage of him being beaten up.
Otero: People are often left out in the gym. In a real fight, whoever pushed me was hit by them but knocked down. I’m telling you right now, I’m going to beat (beep) out of him. This is my business, and this is personal.
Maccow: Every time he steps into the ring, he gets bullied by me. There are more videos. There’s only one out there but I could drop more.
Otero: I’m at my best for this match so I wish him luck.

In an eight-round bout for the NABF Jr. super featherweight title. vacant, two-time Mongolian Olympic athlete and 2018 Asian Games gold medalist Tsendbaatar “Genghis Khan” Erdenebat (5-0, 3 KO) will fight Edy Valencia Mercado (20-9-6, 7 KOs). Tsendbaatar returned to Sony Hall after a third round TKO victory at the venue on February 23.
In a six-round match for teenagers, Joshua David “Pretty Boy” Rivera (8-2, 3 KOs), from La Mesa, CA, against Ireland Larry’s “Dehal” fryer (11-6, 4 KOs) currently resides in Yonkers, NY. fryer
“Explosive” David Lopez (2-0.2 KO), the 19-year-old phenomenon from Las Vegas, NV, will compete in a junior four-round match against Scranton’s Nelson Morales. In his final bout, Lopez, from a family of boxers, was coached by his father and former boxer Kris Lopez.
