The biggest difference between the two is probably that the a7 IV has a 33-megapixel sensor, while the EOS R6 has a 20-megapixel. With that said, one thing that I absolutely love about my EOS R and EOS R5 (and that works well on the EOS R6) is the ability to adjust the EF lens without sacrificing performance. In fact, they often perform better than they did on Canon DSLRs. You can tailor the lenses to your Sony cameras, but their performance may suffer a bit more.
