One of the things I often see is having a lax or poorly implemented backup strategy. It sounds obvious, but you really need to have a robust and well-implemented backup strategy, especially in a genre where you don’t get second chances. This means backing up files as soon as possible (even before taking over if possible) and having at least three copies, including at least one off-site. So I’m a big fan of Backblaze.
