Arqana September sale ends September 9


Bringing together the second half of the portfolio, the second day of the September Five Sale on September 9 saw 133 lots sold out. A total of 75% have changed hands with an average value of €17,190 ($17,450), generating sales of €1.67 million ($1,695,300).

The highest price of the day belongs to the daughter of Goken (Lot 274) from Haras de Colleville. Selling for €74,000 ($75,121), the film falls outside the family of Group 1 winners Intense Focus and Skitter Scatter and will now feature Bernard Giraudon’s colors.

Over two days, demand matched over 73% of the horses sold from the 274 Lots offered for an average price of €19,065 ($19,354). Total sales came in at €3,856,000 ($3,798,353).

After the sale, Arqana president Eric Hoyeau and chief executive officer Freddy Powell said, “We still have some adjustments to make to this nascent form of sales, which has to find its place.
