Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta – Superbike perfect for racing

Aprilia is creating a tradition of race-specific specials for the discerning few (join Tuono X and RSV4 X, and the latest iteration of that thought is certainly an astonishing one. Hi Aprilia RSV4 XTrenta.

Only 100 units of this track weapon will be produced and to put one in your garage you will need to shell out €50,000 (excluding VAT) out of your pocket.

For that exclusivity and part change, though, you get a powerful superbike.

Aprilia is announcing 230hp from the 1,100cc V4, with an aerodynamics package that looks like it came straight from the Italian company MotoGP racing bike… Maybe because it did.

As such, we can see the Aprilia XTrenta as the first superbike with a chin spoiler (Aprilia has some aerodynamic “firsts” compared to its name), along with a prominent front spoiler. , straps on the body and tail section with shaped wings.

The entire package weighs in at 365 lbs (dry weight), with help from a carbon bodywork from Pan Compositi.

The increased engine power comes from an increased compression ratio and a titanium/carbon exhaust from SC-Project. Other fast bits include a Sprint air filter, a larger water and oil radiator from Taleo Tecnoracing.

For some extra bling, there’s a titanium rear sprocket from PBR, a JetPrime dash and some aluminum bits from the Spider (legs, levers, fuel cap, etc).

The suspension was still Öhlins’s, but it was massaged by Andreani’s hand. Braking is still done by Brembo, but with GP4-MS brake calipers combined with 330mm T-drive steel discs.

Wheels are forged magnesium Marchesini M7R GENESI rims with Pirelli Superbike slick tyres, and save 4kg of spinning and unsprung weight compared to the classic bike.

The Italians boast a newly designed front wing that increases downforce while sacrificing less drag, compared to the production model.

The new rear spoiler and chin spoiler (aka “Spoon”) for the rear tire are the first on the market for a production superbike. These improvements increase aerodynamic loads by 25%, while reducing drag by 4% – pushing the performance of this flamethrower RSV4 even further.

This is not a mainstream machine. The Aprilia XTrenta is handcrafted by the Aprilia Racing team in Noale, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Aprilia’s first World Championship title.

Chances are by the time you’re reading this, you’ve missed the very limited amount of time to buy one, and it’s a fact worthy of a Greek tragedy.
