Antonblast has real Wario Land energy and it’s coming to Switch

It’s great to see someone carrying this torch

Not long ago, I was here publicly wish that Wario Land 4 will show up on Nintendo Switch Online as my true GBA pick, and I’m still trying my best not to get my hopes up. Admittedly, my attention is better spend above Antonblastan upcoming indie platformer for PC and Nintendo Switch that taps into the sentiments of the dearly departed series.

Antonblast won over fans on Kickstarter who had already surpassed the game’s base $75,000 goal on Kickstarter with one month left in the crowdfunding campaign.

If you’re like me, the classic action movie scene on the platform sells itself.

Summitsphere, the studio behind Antonblastsays it was directly inspired by Wario Land 4, Crash Bandicoot 2, Metroid Dread, CD Sonic, Shovel Knightand Cuphead – pretty list!

The developers are especially focused on providing “tight backgrounds, hand-drawn animations, stronger music, and crazy characters,” and they’re growing Antonballa game of breaking bricks in circuit Mario Bros. which we mentioned before about Destructoid.

An interesting wrinkle collected from the Kickstarter pitch: every world in Antonblast is a “mini-metroidvania with half an hour of exploration each time on the first run.”

They are echoing Wario Landend of level “Hurry up!” concept, it’s something that I used to stress about but I really appreciate later in life. The pitch also mentions Difficulty Mode, Time Trial and Boss Bosses to complement the “five-hour” main story mode.

Unlucky
Dynamite Anton in the flesh.

“Thank you so much for all of your support,” tweeted Studio producer JB Long.

“This is a life-changing moment for all of us at Summitsphere, myself included. To see something that we rocketed to go viral overnight and grow its entire budget by like 7% of the time allotted is terrible. I still don’t quite ‘feel’ it. “

PlayStation and Xbox are long-term goals

If the Kickstarter drive continues down its current path, I expect to see players beat at least a few more stretch goals starting at $100,000 – more worlds, possible characters Alternate play and PlayStation and Xbox versions are also possible.

Antonblast Coming to Nintendo Switch and PC soon, and $20 pledges including digital access to the game are completed after it’s launched. There’s a free demo, in the meantime.
