The Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP) has announced that it will be hosting its annual KEEP Day event in Frankfort on Thursday, January 27, 2022. KEEP Day in Frankfort provides an opportunity for grassroots members of the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP). KEEP, industry leaders, breed associations and other industry partners to share with Kentucky legislators the importance of horses to their legislative districts and the state’s economy.
The event will take place from 9:00 am – 10:45 am in Room 113 in Capitol Annex.
Elisabeth Jensen, executive vice president of KEEP, who oversees the organization’s day-to-day operations, commented, “Kentucky’s horse industry and communities generate an annual economic impact of $6.5 billion More importantly, however, are the tens of thousands of jobs and thousands of businesses that directly and indirectly contribute to the state’s equine industry.Businesses and partners in this industry are the lifeline. the blood of small towns across the state and it’s important that this industry thrives to support the small businesses and equine operations in the heart of Kentucky’s signature industry.”
Founded in 2004 to preserve, promote, and protect the state’s equine industry, KEEP represents and advocates on behalf of Kentucky’s entire industry — all breeds and equine pursuits. .
Jensen continued, “KEEP Day in Frankfort brings together industry participants along with legislators to share how policies developed in Frankfort have a real impact in the industry across the state. wanted to showcase all aspects of the industry, including travel and entertainment, racing, non-racing breeds, and more.”
