This July with the launch of Stray, we saw the PlayStation community fall in love with BlueTwelve Studio’s realistic cat hero. But it’s not just gamers who are mesmerized by cat physics and ‘Press Square to Meow’ technology – your pets will love it too! Across social media, we’ve seen real-life reactions as cats and dogs alike run onto the screen and wonder how the real-looking cat got there.
In the face of excitement, we reached out to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to see how we could turn player support for the animal indie game. This beloved cat becomes a support for pets that are really in need. Along with a $25,000 donation to the organization, we wanted to create a digital photo book of your pets sharing their love with Stray.
With that, we are pleased to announce a new social media initiative called Stray’s reaction. Here’s how it works:
How to join
Starting today through September 23, 2022, players simply need to share a photo or video of your cat, dog, or other pet reacting or posing alongside a PlayStation game of Stray on Twitter or Instagram using hashtags. #StrayReactions. *
At the end of that submission window, we’ll select our favorite curious kitten videos and tail photos into a digital photo book to present to the ASPCA along with a $25,000 donation. We’ll also put some posts into an engaging reel that we’ll share on our blog and social channels.
It’s that simple! We can’t wait to see your pet play Stray with you.
