It’s time Konosuba to boom back to the screen. On Friday, Kadokawa teased her first look at Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, a spin-off starring Crimson Arch Wizard Megumin. The show will air in 2023. [Thanks, ANN!]

The Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! The teaser shows the provocative incident in the career of the young Megumin. As a child, Megumin was saved by an elderly mage. Her savior casts the ultimate attack spell: Explosion. Since then, Megumin has been so dedicated to absorbing and mastering the spell that she vowed to “use Explosion once a day or die”, even if a single spell consumed all of her magic. her to the point that she collapsed in a heap.
The Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! Adapted from the light novel series of the same name. Megumin and her self-proclaimed star rival Yunyun, and the story of their lives before meeting Konosuba protagonist Kazuma Satou. In the movie, Rie Takahashi will play the role of Megumin. She also plays Mash in Fate / Grand Order and Emilia in Re: Zero. Aki Toyosaki will also return as Yunyun. Her other roles include Justine and Caroline in Persona 5 and Yui in K-On!.
The anime will be produced by Studio Drive (while Studio Deen and JC Staff animate the series and main film, respectively). Most of the staff from main Konosuba The series will return, however. These include director Takaomi Kanasaki, main screenwriter Makoto Uezu and character designer Koichi Kikuta. The same employee is working on the is third Konosuba whole season.
Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! premieres in 2023. The first two seasons of Konosuba available on Crunchyroll and other services. The The Legend of Crimson the series aired in 2019. Yen Press publishes the source novels and their manga adaptations in English.
