It is said that good things come in three, and today is no exception. We at PlayStation are excited to present our newest trilogy of vinyl soundtracks, brought to you by our friends at Milan Records: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Ghost of Tsushima: Music from Iki Island & Legends, and Returnal.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
The Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart soundtrack features a great, BAFTA-nominated score by Mark Mothersbaugh and Wataru Hokoyama, along with the award-winning, brilliantly performed song, “Join Me at the Top,” from the new entry. in the critically acclaimed Insomniac Games franchise.
For the vinyl design, we were lucky enough to have great illustrator, Shan Jiang, who really knocked it out of the park with his rotatable panoramic cover work.
As Shan describes, “The cover concept focuses on duality and travel between parallel universes. I learned that the core idea of the game is to find out who you really are through understanding yourself. Rivet and Ratchet became better versions of themselves through the adventures they went through together. It’s like Ratchet and Rivet are looking in a mirror, but in the mirror is another universe. So you can see the cover from Rivet’s point of view or from Ratchet’s point of view, depending on how you want to keep the cover.”
The panels inside introduce the main characters and their diminutive counterparts in a rare moment of contemplation, giving us an intimate portrait of the Rift Apart team as they take a breather from the action. non-stop of the game.

Ghost of Tsushima: Music from Iki Island & Legends
Following their 2021 release A BAFTA-nominated score for the original game, Milan Records offers the second volume from Sucker Punch’s epic series with Ghost of Tsushima: Music from Iki Island & Legends.
Featuring Ilan Eshkeri’s iconic Jin Sakai theme woven into stunning new works by Chad Cannon and Bill Hemstapat, the album is wrapped in striking mainstream art from the iconic Director’s Cut expansion and numerous DLC. player.
The image of a lone Jin against the bright tones of Iki Island provides a dramatic contrast with the terrifying dark red of the Legendary world. Inside, we were treated to moody concept art of a ship’s graveyard, with wonderful character portraits on the record label and a poster of the artist’s amazing “monkey onsen” display. Completing the lineup, the BAFTA-winning score for Housemarque’s Returnal showcases Bobby Krlic’s vibrant, powerful music alongside custom artwork by acclaimed artist David Mack.
Selene is at the heart of the design, allowing observers to incorporate their interpretation of her journey on the Atropos into the artwork. The music is a combination of suppressed sounds and beautiful strings; Mack’s artwork is a similarly stunning depiction of Returnal’s beautiful challenge.
When it comes to inspiration, for David Mack, it’s “the discussion with the creators that drove the visuals. They were kind enough to provide me with a list of words and ideas that served as the catalyst for the cover photo. From words, symbols and music, I made some drawings to try to crystallize the ideas of dimension. From our discussion of those things, I made pictures based on what people reacted best to. ”
