Beyond the sweltering sands, the celebrations for Mondstadt’s Weinlesefest are coming as the cool autumn breeze blows, along with plenty of events, mini-games and rich rewards.
The realm of death, mystery and technology
Unlike the verdant rainforests, the Sumeru desert looks bleak and barren at first glance. In the center of the desert is the massive Tomb of King Deshret. Although King Deshret and his ancient civilization have perished, his legends and technology are still told by the Desertfolk as are the mechanisms and robots that guard his resting place.
Beneath the scorching sands are a vast number of dungeons, challenging intruders with unseen puzzles, mechanics and robotic guardians powered by King Deshret’s ancient technologies. . The Guardian Network’s Half-Time Matrix algorithm is the deadliest of all, with the ability to become invisible during combat. Another new boss enemy, Aeonblight Drake is also a powerful mechanical monster that can be found in the jungle.
Not as lifeless and desolate as it first appears, the desert region reveals an astonishing array of terrains and living creatures. Sand dunes, grand canyons, and oases stand amid harsh arid conditions, and creatures like the Sumpter Monster, Desert Fox, Quicksand Unagi, Red Vulture, Scorpion, and Scarab all call the area home. Meanwhile, Aaru Village is the largest settlement and stronghold for the Desertfolk. Sumeru’s Archon quest will continue as its landscape expands into the desert. While the Traveler was busy dealing with Akademiya, two Fatui Harbingers, Il Dottore and Scaramouche, plotted a conspiracy in the Nation of Wisdom.
More allies from Sumeru
As the story progresses, more Sumeru characters are ready to become trusted allies. A half-blood descendant of King Deshret, Candace defends Aaru Village with a shield, weapon, and a Hydro Vision. Although Candace is gentle and gentle with everyone, she will transform into a fierce and skillful warrior whenever she senses threats to the village. Holding her Elemental Skill, Candace will begin charging her skill and raising her shield to block incoming attacks and absorb damage. When fully charged, Candace can jump high and unleash a ferocious attack on enemies in front of her. During exploration, Candace can reduce Stamina cost on climbing for all four party members.
Just like her dance, Nilou’s presence also has a calming effect on the city of Sumeru, as her caring personality always pushes her to support those around her. However, she can also use some help when confusion and negativity arise in her mind. In combat, Nilou enjoys Hydro’s sword and power, and her elegant dance technique is also reflected in her attack patterns. With his elemental Skill, Nilou can perform two different jumps, Blade Dance and Spinning Leap, dealing different effects and damage respectively. She can give her teammates extra support if Dendro and Hydro are the only two elements available on her team.
As General Mahamatra, Cyno was quite used to fighting with his pole and Electro’s power. With his Elemental Burst, Cyno called upon a divine spirit to save his life, transforming into the Pactsworn Pathclearer. In Pactsworn Pathclearer, Cyno’s Normal, Charge, and Javelin Attacks are converted to Electric Damage that cannot be overridden. At the same time, Cyno will receive many buffs including increased Elemental Mastery, resistance to interruption, and immunity to charged damage. More rich desert adventures
To better simulate realistic trails in the sand, we’ve implemented a new feature, dynamic terrain distortion. As characters and creatures walk in the desert, the sand beneath their feet will sink, while a portion of the sand will gather around the footprints, causing a slight bump. Quicksand tracks change depending on the size and movement of different targets.
At the same time, we’ve also enhanced DualSense Controller support for Version 3.1. Each playable character will have vibration feedback when they use their Elemental Burst, and we have another surprise for you to discover!
Bright autumn days in Mondstadt
Need a break from the hot dry climate? The people of Mondstadt are preparing for the annual Weinlesefest. In folklore, this is the time to brew and enjoy the wine of the year with Anemo Archon. If Archon is satisfied with the new wine, he will send his blessing with the autumn breeze.
This year’s Weinlesefest is about family and friendship with our old friends. However, the main story will unravel Razor, and his past will also be revealed as the story unfolds. Besides, festivals often come with challenges and mini-games.
