Hoo, boy! This Toyota GR Corolla is a small hot number. What it lacks in full speed (it’s not that bad, actually), it makes up for in pure hot hatch characterization. this time Corolla GR Morizo appeared in my driveway, I almost started drooling… it reminded me that I was terribly thirsty. So I grabbed my trusty Nalgene water bottle, got some water, and decided if there was a convenient place to keep it in the car.
I start with the front cups.
Top cup holders other handbrake side. I love it. This car is all about driving. Drinks are secondary, at best. I’m happy that the dial to change the AWD split serves as a buffer between any drinks and the gear lever.
Nalgene is not suitable. Just as good. Any bottle, really, will just make the electronic brake turn that much harder. Try the door.
That’s not good at all. That is more suitable for a Red Bull more than a bottle of water.
As expected, there’s no way this 32-ounce beefcake would fit there. Guess you’re riding a shotgun, man. Check out the back seat.
Oh that’s right, there’s no back seat in this bad boy. There is, however, an actual cup holders in the rear door armrests, for those who opt for the second row of seats. But you can guess how it will work for Nalgene.
One option is to find a spot in the cargo area to put the bottle, and use it as a tanker to refill a smaller tank in time to get to the front. Under the cargo mat, the chunky foam pad has some gaps. You can also fit a pair into the well next to the cargo area.
Another option: Thread it through a random child seat lanyard on the bar at the back.
So yes, the GR Corolla is almost like oversized water bottles as its owner will treat its clutch. Like removing the rear seats, maybe it’s just a ploy to prevent the driver from creating unnecessary weight.
