2022 Toyota Sienta launched in Japan – third generation MPV; TNGA platform; Dynamic Force Engine; from RM64k


Toyota has officially launched the all-new Sienta, replacing the second-generation model first launched in 2015. Entrances and exits are also improved thanks to revised power sliding doors, which now have an opening height of 1,200 mm (+60 mm). The stepless flat floor and low floor height of 330 mm (350 mm for all-wheel drive models) remain unchanged from the old model.

These revised versions are packaged in a body designed to be more ergonomic and less “organic” than the second-generation model. The headlights have a more squarish shape and are now connected by a black trim that runs through the Toyota logo, although they still come with an end that extends into the fender as before.

Elsewhere, the large lower air intake of the previous model now has an angular shape and features a black bar that appears there to protect in the event of an accidental impact with the environment. Inside, the third-generation Sienta features an ergonomic themed redesigned dashboard layout. Gone are the odd lines of the previous model, replaced by a horizontal design that emphasized practicality with accents such as a front storage rack for the front passenger.

There’s also an additional cup holders on the floating center console – the car previously only had cup holders in the corner. Like the second-generation model, there’s now a floor-mounted dashboard, so you still get the path to the second row from the front.

The third cup holder, which occupies the place where the air conditioning controls used to be, is now housed alongside a larger screen just above the symmetrical vents. The Welcab version can seat four or five, with the third row omitted to make room for wheelchairs and an optional ramp.
