2022 MSBK: MotoGP test driver Tsuda joins Mobilub Suzuki Racing Malaysia for first time representative ride

Making his debut in the Malaysian motorcycle racing scene is Takuya Tsuda, Suzuki’s MotoGP test racer. Currently racing in the All Japan ST1000, Tsuda has a spot in the final round of the Malaysian Motor Show (MSBK) 2022 at Sepang International Circuit this October.

The final MSBK race of the season will be held alongside Malaysia’s 2022 Petronas Grand Prix and Tsuda will drive for the Mobilub Suzuki Racing Team. The racing team and Suzuki Malaysia have proposed a wildcard MSBK ride to be launched for Tsuda to strengthen the development of motorsport in Malaysia’s two-wheeled sport.

“As a Suzuki driver for over 10 years, it was important to use this opportunity to share my knowledge and experience. My focus is on quickly adapting to the bike and doing my best to help the team progress together,” said Tsuda. No stranger to the Sepang track, Tsuda has raced for Suzuki in the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT) and with the Suzuki Ecstar Team in MotoGP.

More recently, Tsuda burned down the Motegi track, quite literally, on his substitute ride for Suzuki Ecstar driver Joan Mir. Tsuda’s Suzuki GSX-RR racing machine caught fire during round 12 of the Japanese Grand Prix, forcing him to pull over to the side of the track as police quickly extinguished the blaze.
