2022 Jeep Renegade increases in height and a series of small changes

Jeep car applied a bit of polish for 2022 Extend. As we’ve seen with other brands in the US arm of Stellantis, there seem to be some streamlining plans for next year; we say only Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk versions will make it through the New Year. That’s half the cut on the Renegade configuration at the time of writing, removing the Freedom, Jeepster, 80th Anniversary, and Islander.

In addition, there are several powertrain conversions. Only the Sport model will get front-wheel drive next year, with the other three being all-wheel drive. That means that by 2022, the Sport has front-wheel drive and the Latitude loses its current front-wheel drive. We don’t know pricing yet, but next year’s Sport could start at $1,500 less than it does now, while the base Latitude could be at least $1,500 more expensive than in 2021.

Sport and Latitude will have 8.4-inch touchscreens and standard navigation. On the 2021 Renegade, the Sport can’t be opted for with the larger screen, stick with the 7-inch and to get it on the Sport requires a 2.4-liter four-cylinder change for the 1.3-liter engine and an extra $. 3,090 Luxury Group. The Limited also gets tweaked design next year, including a new grille, new fog lights and mirror caps, a revised rear fender and standard 18-inch wheels instead of the current 17-inch.

The smallest model in the brand’s lineup features a new Altitude trim that further darkens Renegade’s style with glossy black grille rings, badging, daytime and turn-signal surrounds, side mirrors, and side mirrors. Sleek rear with integrated turn signals and rear rack. A quartet of 18-inch gloss black wheels complete the look. Inside, plush fabric or leather seats with accent stitching are Ski Gray with glossier black accents and black headrests.

Finally, the exterior colour palette reduced from 11 colors to 7 colors. Still the same Alpine White, Bikini, Black, Colorado Red, Graphite Gray, Blue and Gray. Granite Crystal Metallic, Jetset Blue, Omaha Orange and Glacier call it a game and let’s start the showers.
