2022 Aston Martin V12 Vantage teased

Give it up for the last time Aston Martinwith it V12 Vantage!

The British automaker has once again teased its upcoming V12 Vantage supercar ahead of its global launch on March 16.

It is not clear at this stage but it is expected that the V12 Vantage will use the same 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 used in the DB11. However, power and torque figures are still unclear.

In its larger brother, the V12 develops 447kW and 700Nm in standard guise, while the DB11 AMR has up to 470kW of power output.

In limited edition V12 Vantage SpeedsterThe 5.2-litre V12 engine has been revised to develop 522kW and 752Nm.

In all three of these V12 models, power is sent to the rear wheels only through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Present, Vantage only available with the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 offered by Mercedes-AMG producing 375kW and 700Nm.

This new Aston Martin V12 Vantage is billed as “the ultimate heir” according to the British carmaker and it “marks the end of an era”.

It’s not 100% clear how the V12 Vantage will increase in price, but it could be the current Vantage model, or the V12 engine itself.

In one announced in early December 2021Aston Martin has confirmed that the upcoming supercar will be named V12 Vantage Final Edition.

Launched by automakers push towards electrification – in line with industry trends and regulations in Europe – this will most likely be the last Vantage model to feature a V12 engine.

On the company’s website in the UK, Aston Martin has posted an image of the V12 Vantage wearing a translucent Union Jack flag that partly shows the front triangle of the supercar.

From what can be seen, the V12 Vantage maintains the classic silhouette but has a large rear spoiler in addition to the ducktail spoiler found on regular Vantage models.

If you click the ‘Hear It Coming’ button on the website, a short video will play that shows the rear of the V12 Vantage and has the sounds of the car starting and revving.

The sound in this video is very similar to the teaser video posted by Aston Martin in December 2021.

At the top of the loop video, it clearly shows the rear of the V12 Vantage, allowing us to get an accurate view of the rear spoiler.

There is also a series of art videos uploaded to Aston Martin’s Twitter that show small snippets of the V12 Vantage.

In particular, there is an extremely short photo of the V12 Vantage’s white painted brake calipers and a photo of the Aston Martin badge on the front.

Throughout its trailer, Aston Martin used the slogans “Depart with poise – but never quietly” and “Always leave the party in style.”

ONE previous image also shows the front of the V12 Vantage alongside its two predecessors.

The front fascia features a grille with chrome slats instead of the V8 model’s overly aggressive black unit, which blends into its front splitter. This is complemented by a new front bumper treatment.

The V12 Vantage is a much-loved member of the previous generation Vantage line.

Launched in 2008, it evolved on the V12 Vantage S, Zagato, GT12 special edition, AMR and finally Vantage N600.

For now, we’ll just have to wait a few more hours until we get a proper look at the Aston Martin V12 Vantage at its official reveal.
