In a perfect world, every older dog would lead a leisurely life, where their greatest concern is choosing the most comfortable napping spot. Sadly that’s not the case, however, as many older dogs find themselves abandoned simply because they’re older and need more care. This is just what happened to Rosie, a sweet senior dog over ten years old.
Rosie was cared for at a rural shelter in Oklahoma after her owners dumped her from a vehicle and abandoned her. The shelter found out she had chronic eye problems and sore mouth and gums. Rosie came into True Friends’ care after a generous volunteer made the 4-hour trip to pick her up. While with them, the rescue team shared, “Rosie was seen by our vet and vaccinated, microchiped, cleaned and extracted.”
“She was diagnosed with chronic dry eye and it was determined that she had very limited vision as a result of this untreated condition.”
