Wladimir Klitschko wants to break the heavyweight record held by George Foreman.
On November 5, 1994, George Foreman became world champion again at 45 years and 299 days. In front of 12,000 fans at the MGM Grand, Las Vegas, the fight preacher knocked out Michael Moorer in the 10th round to become the oldest heavyweight champion.
Although retired for 5 years, Klitschko still has dreams and hopes to return to the ring to beat Foreman in boxing history.
“If I’m in good form, who knows, maybe I’ll have dreams of breaking George Foreman’s record. That motivates me to get up every day and exercise. Everyone has their own motivations,” Dr Steelhammer told SportBild.
The 46-year-old is still in Ukraine with his brother and teammate former world heavyweight champion Vitali as they continue to compete in their battle against Russian aggression.
“I also learned that despite the war, you shouldn’t forget about life,” said Wladimir, who commented on Tyson Fury’s latest win at the weekend.
“Sports are part of my life. I’m glad Tyson Fury won. Who knows, I don’t want to promise anything big here, but if I’m in good shape and most of all, that the war in Ukraine will end soon and our Border survives without it. any invasion comes from Russia, who knows in the end? ”
Wladimir’s last bout came at Wembley Stadium in a modern heavyweight classic against then-champion Anthony Joshua in April 2017. It’s been two years since Klitschko lost the title to Fury and back against ‘AJ’. Brit fell in the sixth round before stopping the former heavyweight ruler in round 11order. The Ukrainian insists he will not return for a specific war.
“I don’t want to break my jaw; I want to break the record. I said that before the war. And in war, it’s about peace in Ukraine, and when peace comes, we’ll talk about it again.”
