The deals for European travel keep coming.
We’ve just been informed of a big sale on flights to several popular destinations in Spain, including Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid and Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Departure cities include Chicago, Houston, Miami, Newark and Washington, DC
This discounted travel window includes flights from September to March next year – possibly one of the best times to visit Spain, depending on your destination. For example, autumn in the Canary Islands is generally a pleasant time thanks to mild temperatures and low chances of rain. But take note: The flights in this sale all involve layovers.
Carry-on baggage is included in this sale for most airlines. Checking bags will cost between $75 and $85 each way. However, if you book on TAP Air Portugal and need to bring a large suitcase, consider upgrading to “Classic” for an additional $65 each way. That will cost less than paying the checked baggage fee separately.

Model flight
Let’s start by showing you a lot of interesting things from Chicago to Madrid. You can book September flights from O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) on TAP Air Portugal for just $379 round-trip.
According to Google Flights, it’s an incredible deal for this route.
If you want to take part in Ibiza’s legendary party atmosphere, you can fly from Chicago to Ibiza Airport (IBZ) in late October for less than $500 round-trip on Iberia.
We have found flights from Miami to Bilbao at heavily discounted prices. Here’s an itinerary we found in November from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Bilbao Airport (BIO) available on Iberia for just $464 round-trip.
The same route in spring 2025 costs $470 round trip.
There are some good deals from the tri-state area to the Canary Islands in this one. TAP Air Portugal has round-trip flights to Tenerife South Airport (TFS) from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in October for $450, a great price. This is also the ideal time to visit the Canaries.
I like to know when I get a good deal and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Google Flights data shows this price is the lowest possible for this route.
If you live in the Washington, DC area, consider taking a trip to the Spanish capital. TAP Air Portugal has flights available from Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Madrid in the fall for round-trip fares under $400. November has a lot of options to consider.
