Which channel is Rams vs. Cardinals? Schedule, time for ‘Monday Night Football’ in Week 14
You have to give it to the Rams. After a tough 36-28 loss to the Packers in Green Bay, they came back with a decent game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, winning 37-7. Matthew Stafford had 295 yards and three touchdowns, not to mention no interceptions. It broke the three-game interception record of Stafford, who had five picks in that span. However, they have a high task on Monday against the divisional rival and the NFC-led Cardinals.
Arizona is in the middle of storybook season. It managed to drop just one game when Kyler Murray was absent after being injured in a game against the Packers. The Cardinals currently lead the NFC despite losing to Packers #2, and Murray doesn’t appear to have missed a beat against the Bears. Like Stafford and the Rams, however, a tougher opponent will face Arizona this week.
When these teams met in October, the Cardinals knocked out Los Angeles in a 37-20 victory. Murray made a 268-yard pass and a double touchdown in that game, while Chase Edmonds pounced on his own for 120 yards. The Rams, however, have retooled since then. They traded in for Von Miller ahead of time and added Odell Beckham Jr to an already deep-seated reception team, making them the NFL’s best team in terms of name recognition. However, that did not translate into results before last week.
This game could have some very real playoffs implications for both teams. The 8-4 Rams are still looking to get past the Cardinals 10-2 atop the AFC West, but the 49ers are also closing in on Los Angeles. With just five games left for both teams, keeping the tempo together will be key. The Rams are holding back a swath of NFC teams looking to break through, so Monday’s win will be key to gaining ground for some of them.
