What are we all playing this holiday?

So this is Christmas, and what have you done? As Katharine said, we’re officially off until the new year, but have lined up some guest authors and horrid Christmas jokes to keep you hooked until then. The death of the year brings some sadness, with Imogen left us, so say goodbye if you haven’t already. Then come back and tell me: what do you play this holiday?

Alice Bee
Been on vacation for a week now, bless her.

Weather permitting, I like to spend most of my vacation outdoors, swimming and biking. But in the midst of that, I’ll be playing the game stealthily Super automatic pet. I was torn between accepting the great stupidity of the Hedgehog meta and resisting it. Either way, someone’s getting goosebumps, and it’s more interesting than the Turkey/Fly meta. And I’ll be back to see all the other endings in Cyberpunk 2077, then I’ll just Take the train around the Night City with the subway mod.

Ed
Start clearing the backlog. Final Fantasy XV must be completed, somehow. I will finally finish Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn and continue. East, probably not. Also looking forward to having cranberry sauce with some turkey and opening another Lynx Africa gift set.

Let’s come
Project Zomboid Just got a big new update that I can’t wait to discover over the Christmas holidays, but I also wanted to spend some extra hours on Ready Or Not with my brother. We tried half of the maps and really liked it, so I wanted to start learning the rest and practice some different types of missions. However, my main priority is Horizon Zero Dawn show on the big, fancy TV downstairs. Forbidden West is right around the corner and looks stunning, so now seems like the perfect time to dust off the PS5 and invest in Aloy’s story.

Imogen
When I don’t have to queue to buy a booster or drive for hours to get a glimpse of my family members, I expect to snuggle up somewhere with the Pokémon remake. Shining Pearl. Pearl is my first Pokémon game, and while not really learning about the new art style, I just can’t help myself, I really want to play it. Than Minecraft also on the card, like that Base. I always manage to find my way back to survival during the holidays. Also, I will play Top and Valuable substance every weekend until I explode. Goodbye RPS!

I won’t be using my PC for the rest of the Christmas season, and the Steam Deck has been delayed, soooooo… the crossword?

Katharine
This year, I spent most of Christmas week with my parents, and I’ve spent the better part of this week deciding exactly what to install on my gaming laptop to bring. There are so many things I want to catch up on. Membrane, Tails Of Iron, Fuga: Melodies of Steel, Fire Peak, and Into the hole it’s all there, and I still need to finish Opus: Echo Of Starsong, is a gripping sci-fi visual novel I started just a few days ago that hints at 80 Days of Inkle and Heaven’s Vault about it. It’s so good! Then again, I also like a good blockbuster to play over Christmas, but is it Deathloop, Halo Infinite, or Tales Of Arise, I just do not know. I guess I’ll see where the mood takes me! In any case, I hope you all have a great holiday and we’ll be back with more gaming features in the New Year. Merry Christmas!

Ollie
has also settled on his vacation.

Rebecca
I’m coming home for Christmas for the first time in two years, so for the next few weeks I plan to step away from my games, at least occasionally, to make time for seasonal family activities. healthy, such as a long winter walk. the rural village where I grew up, and consumed an extraordinary amount of tea. Most of the games I have lined up have also been carefully curated to enjoy in quality family time. I resisted the urge to start over Hercule Poirot: The First Cases until I can play it with my dad, who appreciates the mysteries of the golden age who loves a good point-and-click adventure; while my Zombie-Haunted Mother is years past her introduction to Telltale’s The Walking Dead, a series that I’ve been wanting to replay for a while. I also brought Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it will be a joy for the whole family when it is placed at the neck of our forest. Maybe I’ll climb Bardon Hill in real life and as Eivor on the same day, if I dare venture far from home with all that tea in my system.

But you, dear reader, what are you playing this weekend?
