Shankar Mishra accused of giving a passenger a ‘gold bath’

Back in November, Shankar Mishra—Vice President of Wells Fargo’s India Chapter—is said to have gone too far in his flight. Specifically, the Mumbai resident is accused of urinating on a passenger on the flight, who is described as being in his 70s, while intoxicated.

Based on business today, the incident resulted in Shankar being banned from Air India for only 30 days. However, an airline spokesman noted: “If found guilty, the unruly passenger will be dealt with according to regulatory guidelines.”

Despite this, many are unhappy and continue to criticize Shankar and Air India online. People are also confused as to why Shankar has not been arrested, although a case has recently been opened on the matter, according to reports.

Shankar Mishra’s lawyer says the situation has been handled separately

In the face of public outrage, Shankar’s legal team came out and provided messages trying to show that the woman in question agreed not to report the incident in exchange for Rs 15,000, despite she returned the money. The lawyers also argued that the woman “tolerated” the urge to urinate on her. Press Trust of India report.

Notably, attorney Ishani Sharma went as far as to say that the elderly woman’s return of the money was “an afterthought.” In addition, she shared that there were no witnesses who could corroborate the story.

Wells Fargo walked in with a statement

With all the madness surrounding the incident, it appears Wells Fargo has decided to cut its losses and let Shankar go, according to a brief statement that went viral on social media.

“Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC) makes this statement in connection with the November 2022 incident on New York-Delhi Air India flight: Wells Fargo requires employees to adhere to the highest standards of conduct. personal and professional and we find these allegations extremely disturbing. This individual has been terminated from Wells Fargo. We are cooperating with law enforcement and are asking them to forward any additional requests.”
