Frank Warren predicted a classic heavyweight fight between Joe Joyce and Joseph Parker.
The fight was announced at Wembley Stadium during BT Sport’s Box Office broadcast of the Tyson Fury-Dillian Whyte card last month. And while the two face off in front of TV cameras and then backstage, there’s been no official announcement yet. Warren told YouTube channel Queensbury Promotion that the deal is close to closing.
“We are about to finish this. We are just waiting for the contracts to come back.”
Joyce’s promoter then went on to praise Parker and talk about the fight that was kicked off for this summer at Wembley Arena.
“They’re no ordinary Joes, they’re two very good fighters,” Warren said.
“Joe Parker showed everything he wanted. He beat some good British boxers. He is a former world champion and we know that Joe is undefeated. This has all the hallmarks of a classic fight and it’s the way I’d expect it to be. Style makes war. Joe’s relentless style, going forward, he shoots now and then to his landing. You know it’s going to be something a little bit special. “
