Three funny women are about to host Hollywood’s biggest love festival. The 94th Academy Awards will be hosted by actors Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall and Amy Schumer. It will be the first time all three artists have performed and also the first time three women have won an Oscar. The ceremony was televised live on ABC on March 27.

“Imagine having one of the funniest women in comedy today host the Oscars… Now, multiply it by three,” said Craig Erwich, president of Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment. , president, Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment said in a statement.

Sykes and Schumer are veteran comedians who have continued to develop every aspect of editing. Sykes is the creator, executive producer, writer and star of comedy series Expansion ones and can be seen in the upcoming series World history; Part II. Schumer wrote and starred in the movie Shipwreck and is the writer, director, executive producer and star of the upcoming comedy series Life and Beth. Girl’s trip star Hall of Regina has been nominated for numerous NAACP Image Awards, including her roles in Black Monday and The hate you give. Hall is an executive producer and will star in the upcoming film Master.

“I know the joy Regina, Amy and Wanda will have will also convey to our audience,” said Oscars show producer Will Packer. “Many surprises in store! Expect surprises!”

Calm down, Will. Oscar ratings has hit all-time lows in recent years.

Year after year, research shows Hollywood productions lack diversity.

According to the most recent UCLA’s Hollywood Diversity Reportwhile women and people of color have made some gains, they remain “underrepresented on every job front in the industry.”

Perhaps three powerful comedians — two of them black — are exactly what the broadcaster needs to attract more viewers.
