‘Vanderpump Rules’ is about to go on summer vacation

Prepare to say goodbye to everything #Scandoval for a spell. Each term, Vanderpump Rules is taking a long vacation and will not go into production in the summer as usual.

On his SiriusXM show Andy Cohen Liveexecutive producer Andy Cohen resolve the decision to give VPR in a short pause. “Yes, we often do this with Housewives“, Cohen told his co-host John Arthur Hill. “We would say, ‘You know what? You know, put the camera down for four or five months and come back to them’ and they’ll live, you know, life. Things will be different.”

For years Vanderpump Rules encountered, the pause in filming may have simply been due to a doctor’s order. After a tumultuous few seasons, the Bravo series’ popularity skyrocketed last year, as longtime cast members and romantic partners Tom Sandoval And Ariana Madix ended their relationship after it was revealed that Sandoval had been having an affair with their co-star Rachel Leviss. Much of that drama plays out on camera while VPR returned to production to capture the cast’s immediate reactions to #Scandoval. VPRThe tenth season was a ratings breakthrough that earned the series its first Emmy nominations for outstanding unstructured reality program and outstanding visual editing for an unstructured reality program.

Part 11 of Vanderpump Rules, premiered to record ratings in January, filming began just months after news of the #Scandoval scandal broke. But this season received a warmer reception from fans as it told the story of Sandoval, Madix, and their frosty relationship after their breakup. (Leviss left the show after season 10 and started her own podcast, “Rachel Goes Rogue.”) “I was talking to Ariana [Madix] about this on last night’s show. I’m saying, people often forget, especially when it involves Ariana, who was cheated on, people forget that we took the cameras a few, three months after she found out about the affair,” She was still in a period of intense anger and you could understand that,” Cohen said.

For those who are mourning VPR off the air for a while, there are still plenty of places to get Vanderpump-adjacent content. Yes from Peacock Valleya spin-off of VPR follows VPR star Jax Taylor, Kristen DouteAnd Brittany Cartwright, as they grow out of the chaos of youth serving at SUR and enter adulthood with marriage and children. And this is Vanderpump Mansionfind VPR matriarchy Lisa Vanderpump opens a chateau in the South of France with a brand new reality TV series on Hulu.

The VPR The hiatus comes at a great time for Madix, who recently took on the role of Roxie in Chicago on Broadway. She will take over Sarah Hyland as the host of American Love Island, is said to begin filming this summer in Fiji. Cohen and the producers believe that VPRThe brief hiatus will ultimately benefit the show, which has been singing the same #Scandoval tune for nearly a year now. “Look, sometimes you want to quickly pick up the camera because something’s happening and you want to get in there right away and sometimes you want people to live their lives and see how things develop and you know, so I think it’s a very good idea,” Cohen said. So for now, it’s long overdue for summers in the SUR parking lot.
