WASHINGTON – The Biden administration will release a federal strategy on Monday to deliver on an ambitious plan to build 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations nationwide and ultimately transform the U.S. auto industry. Ky.

The new EV charging strategy establishes a joint electric vehicle office between the federal Departments of Energy and Transportation; issue guidelines and standards for the states; and ensure consultation with manufacturers, state and local governments, environmental and civil rights groups, tribes and others.
The two ministries will also form an electric vehicle advisory committee that officials hope to have up and running early next year.
The Brandywine site features an electric vehicle charger that is currently the only one locally, filling what the White House calls a “critical gap in the region’s electric vehicle charging network.”
Harris is expected to continue his call for Democrats to approve Biden’s $2 trillion environmental and social policy bill, currently pending in the Senate. The bill, formally known as the Rebuild Better Act, would cut sticker prices on new and used electric vehicles, among other benefits, the White House said.
Republicans, including some who voted in favor of the new infrastructure law, have criticized Biden for being so preoccupied with electric vehicle technology as Americans are competing with a spike in gasoline and natural gas prices.
Last month Biden placed a record order 50 million barrels of oil released are from US Strategic Reserve, in collaboration with other major energy consuming countries. Gasoline prices have dropped in recent weeks amid fears of a possible economic slowdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the American Automobile Association, the average price on Sunday was $3.33 a gallon, down about 7 cents from the end of last month.
